The 11th plenary meeting of the Committee for Coordination, Review and Monitoring (CRMC) of the United Nations Security Council sanctions resolutions on counter proliferation and its financing, was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad on 16th March 2022. The meeting was chaired by the Director General SECDIV and attended by exofficio members of relevant Ministries/ Departments.
The Committee reviewed the progress made so far by designated regulators as per MoFA Guidelines concerning implementation of UNSC sanctions resolutions and requisite subsequent CPF measures. The regulators apprised the Committee on steps undertaken as emphasized in MoFA Guidelines including updates on tasks for effective monitoring of suborganizations on targeted financial sanctions (TFS) for proliferation financing (PF), internal and external outreach sessions and future modus operandi to ensure continuous compliance monitoring. Chair of the Committee underscored that CRMC will be continuously reviewing progress by designated regulators in the implementation of MoFA Guidelines on TFS for PF into their respective monitoring procedures.
