Contributing towards Non-Proliferation and Security through Effective Export Management of Sensitive Goods and Technologies

Commodity Identification Training and Outreach/ Awareness Raising, Sialkot (December 2025)

A team from the Strategic Export Control Division (SECDIV) conducted a two-day Commodity Identification Training (CIT) at Collectorate of Customs Sumbrial Dry Port, Sialkot on 17-18 December, 2025. The training aimed at enhancing the capacity of customs officials in identifying and interdicting dual-use goods, materials and technologies. Additionally, the session also covered various other aspects of strategic trade controls including red flag indicators and the implementation of United Nations Security Council (UNSC) sanctions related to proliferation of WMDs.

 

In a related event, the SECDIV team visited the Chamber of Commerce Sialkot on 18th December, 2025 for awareness raising of exporters on strategic export control mechanism for dual use goods, materials and technologies. Furthermore, on 19th December 2025, the team also visited University of Sialkot for awareness session and apprised the academic community about Strategic Export Control laws, with a special focus on Intangible Technology Transfers and the Implementation of Internal Compliance Program (ICP) guidelines at academic institutions. Around 200 participants including faculty members and students from IT and natural sciences attended the session.

 

These events were part of SECDIV's Annual Outreach and CIT plan.
